本研究探討家庭危險因子對家庭凝聚力、自尊與學業表現之影響歷程,以檢視家庭凝聚力與自尊是否在家庭危險因子與青少年學業表現之間扮演中介變項的角色。研究樣本來自「臺灣貧窮兒少資料庫」,資料分析方法為描述統計與結構方程模型。結果顯示,家庭危險因子顯著地負向預測青少年學業表現,且同樣顯著地負向預測家庭凝聚力和青少年自尊。中介效果分析顯示,家庭凝聚力與自尊在家庭危險因子和學業表現之間係一完全中介角色,家庭危險因子的負面效果需透過家庭凝聚力與自尊進而影響學業表現。根據結果,本研究具體說明家庭凝聚力與自尊對身陷家庭危險因子青少年學業表現之意義,並提出教育實務與研究建議。
In order to improve academic problems aroused from family background, we should explore the related predictors of academic performance among adolescents living with family risk factors. This study examined the influences and process of the impacts of family risk factors on family cohesion, self-esteem, and academic performance. We also explored the mediating roles of family cohesion and self-esteem between family risk factors and academic performance. Data were retrieved from the Taiwan Database of Children and Youth in Poverty. Analytical strategies included descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Results showed that family risk factors could significantly negatively influence academic performance, and also significantly negatively influence family cohesion and self-esteem. Next, family cohesion could significantly positively influence self-esteem, and self-esteem could significantly positively influence academic performance. In addition, the results indicated that family cohesion and self-esteem could serve a full mediating role between family risk factors and academic performance. Based upon the above results, this study discussed the meanings of the family cohesion and self-esteem on those adolescents with family risk factors. We provided several suggestions for education and future research.
