A New Species of Thylacodes (Gastropoda : Vermetidae) from the Northeastern Coast of Taiwan

台灣東北海岸產的蛇螺科一新種（腹足綱：蛇螺科）

摘要

A new species of genus Thylacodes (family Vermetidae) is described and illustrated, and named as Thylacodes borshenglyuhrurngae in this paper. This new species was collected by Mr. Borsheng Jung and his wife Lyuhrurng Chen from the subtidal zones of the northeastern coast of Taiwan. The holotype (16mm length) and the paratype (10.5mm) both are attached to the same top shell (Trochus nigropunctatus Reeve, 1861) which is deposited in National Taiwan Museum, Taipei.

鍾柏生和陳綠蓉夫婦最近在台灣東北海岸龍洞和馬岡一帶的岩礁海岸，在潮池和九孔養殖池等的潮下帶環境，找到一些鐘螺死殼，其上附著有一奇特的蛇螺。經作者之研究，為蛇螺科Thylacodes 屬的一新種，今以本文描述之。此新種貝殼將被命名為柏生綠蓉蛇螺(Thylacodes borshenglyuhrurngae)，以感謝他們提供此項研究題材。此新種的蛇螺形態奇特，貝殼初期(殼頂部)呈平捲形，然後向下呈直管生長，圓形的殼口在直管的最下方，整個形態略似一根拐杖，而且整個螺管有紫色的螺旋肋縱走其上。此種蛇螺多附著於鐘螺類的死殼上，最大可長到33mm。正模式標本及副模式標本保存於台北的國立台灣博物館。
