台大實驗林溪頭崩塌地定殖植物之特性研究

Characteristics of Colonizers on the Landslide of Chitou, Experimental Forest, National Taiwan Forest

摘要


本研究於2004年在台大實驗林溪頭營林區的崩塌地上進行,以挖掘根系的方式來了解崩塌地上主要定殖植物的根系生長,並以取樣方式了解這些植物葉部養分組成,本試驗調查的植物包括赤楊(Alnus formosana)及白雞油(Fraxinus formosana)、水麻(Debregeasia edulis)、揚波(Buddleia asiatiac)、五節芒(Miscanthus floridulus)。結果發現水麻及揚波的主根系極深,側根則較稀少,赤揚、白雞油、五節芒的主根系則不明顯,因此根的深度較淺,白雞油原為穴殖管苗,盤根情形嚴重,整體生長或許因此有逐漸落後的情形:白雞油不論,其他四個植物種類間,水麻的根莖比明顯為高,顯示水麻在崩塌地定殖採取向下紮根的策略。在葉部養分組成上,赤楊葉的氮濃度最高,水麻及楊波次之,但是水麻葉的鉀、鈣、鎂濃度卻最高,楊波葉的鈣、鎂濃度僅次與水麻,白雞油及五節芒的養分濃度大體上較低。赤楊葉遭昆蟲啃食面積比例在六月為27.4%,之後較為緩和,八月及十二月依次為21.1%及9.7%。

This study was performed on the landslide area of Chitou, Experimental Forest, National Taiwan University. The roots were excavated to observe and measure the rooting depth and distribution. The leaf tissues were sampled to analyze their nutrient composition. This study investigated five plant species, including Alnus formosana, Fraxinus formosana, Debregeasia edulis, Buddleia asiatiac, and Miscanthus floridulus. Debregeasia edulis and Buddleia asiatiac were found to have the deepest main roots, whereas the other three species had inconspicuous main roots. The weight ratio of root to shoot was the greatest in Debregeasia edulis, suggesting its deep rooting strategy. The containerized seedlings of Fraxinus formosana got the severe root-bound problem, which might have limited the growth of these seedlings. Alnus formosana had the highest leaf nitrogen concentration. Debregeasia edulis had the highest K, Mg, and Ca concentrations, and Buddleia asi-Buddleia asiatiac came second in leaf Mg and Ca concentrations. The leaf area loss by insect herbivory was 27.4%, 21.1%, and 9.7% in June, August and December, respectively.
