On the Ultrasonic Waves in a Rheological Body with Initial Stress

Calculations are made on the velocities and damping coefficients of longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves in a visco-elastic body with initial stress. The so-called acousto-visco-elastic effect, which is quite analogous to the photoelastic effect, is briefly mentiond.
