The Hamiltonian in the Heisenberg model has been solved for oriented ferromagnetic films with N layers. The easy and hard directions of magnetization have been calculated for a ferromagnetic film with a bcc(001) lattice. However, the method explained in this report is applicable to a film with any ferromagnetic material lattice. Especially the effect of stress on the magnetic anisotropy energy has been considered. The total magnetic energy has been calculated using two different methods related to summation and integration. For the bcc(001) lattice, the easy and hard directions calculated using summation are exactly the same as those calculated using integration. The easy and hard directions for the bcc(001) lattice are θ = 45° and 135°, respectively.
