An Overview of Dust Acoustic Waves and Their Characterisation

Dust acoustic waves have recently been the subject of much interest and research activity. The present communication brings out the mathematical evaluation of the dust acoustic waves (DAWs) and their characterisation, in the form of a technical review. The results for the steepening of nonlinear DAWs into dust acoustic shocks and also for the shock position, amplitude, and thickness have also been technically discussed. In addition, the results in graphical form for the variation of the shock width and amplitude with time, and also of the combining of a faster shock overtaking a slower shock into a single shock have been briefly described
