The main purpose of this study was to explore future development of Taiwan agricultural extension. From the key-points of some agricultural stakeholders, the needs of agricultural extension were analyzed. The results provided convincing suggestions for further improvement. Using systematic sampling and a mailing questionnaire, the researchers collected the opinions of the key-stakeholders in the agricultural extension field regarding scheme of definition, institutes, target objects, contents, need assessment, and public services. The changing tendencies and preferred priorities from both professional farmers and extension workers were compared. Some research results and suggestions were valuable for public resources allocation and strategies implementation.
