Dentinogenesis imperfecta (DI) type II is a disease inherited in a simple autosomal-dominant mode. The color of the teeth may range from gray to brown with a translucent or opalescent hue. The enamel often chips and fractures away, allowing speedy attrition of the remaining, poorly calcified and softened dentin. This 3-year-old male child suffered impaired esthetics because of his grayish-brown teeth. After checking the roentgenographic and histologic features, DI type II was diagnosed. Then he received treatment with composite resin fillings, stainless steel crowns, and removable space maintainers. Treatment by covering the primary molars with stainless steel crowns showed a good prognosis.
