The spread of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) through Taiwan has driven people to make changes in their lifestyles. One such adjustment is that people are spending more time at home than before. Reading has its healing effect on the soul and is thought to be one of the best activities for people to do during the SARS outbreak. This article introduces bibliotherapy and discusses the implications to the personalized reader services of public libraries.
