Subtrochanteric Fracture in Young Adult after Cannulated Screw Fixation of Intracapsular Femoral Neck Fracture: A Case Report

Subtrochanteric fractures of femur through the lower screw hole after screw fixation of intracapsular femoral neck fractures are recognized in elder adult but the complication is rare. Relative literature is not available in young adult on this subsequent complication after cannulated screw fixation. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the possible etiology and our management of using an 135˚ AO Dynamic hip screw with a five-hole plate, resulting in satisfactory healing of fracture.
