This paper reviews the literatures of the Western and Taiwanese backpacking. By investigating the construction of backpacking characteristics, this paper analyze the model of backpackers, and how the way influence female's decision. However, what we are calling for in this paper is a pre-study to explore an understanding of how mobility can be used by Taiwanese female backpackers as a matter of choice of constructing their sense of identity and a way to break the stereotype of gender differences in tourism practices.
