The Role of Occupational Therapy in Occupational Assessment

職業評估中職能治療所扮演的角色

摘要


日常活動功能及工作活動功能的評估一直是職能治療很重要的一環。職能評估、職業興趣測量、性向測驗及對工作適合度的測驗一開始都是由職能治療師開始進行。現在,儘管職能評估及職業調適已發展成為新的專業復健服務,但職能治療仍有其重要性。職能治療師是提供職能評估師個案功能、工作極限及工作能量等正確訊息的人選。一名職能治療師應當熟悉工作分析的基本原則及如何使用行為測驗及工作模擬站。職能治療師不光只走分辨職能上的障礙,更重要的是運用他的專業為個案設計治療課程,改善彌補其功能缺陷。以治療為著眼點是職能治療與職能評估、職業調適的不同處所在。

Functional assessment of both A.D.L. and occupational activities has always been an important part of O.T. Vocational evaluation, the specialized assessment of occupational interests, aptitudes and suitability for specific kinds of work was originally initiated by O.T. and the first evaluators were O.T.'s. Vocational evaluation, however, has now developed into a separate professionalized rehabilitation service as has also vocational adjustment, but O.T. still has an important role to play. O.T.'s are specially qualified to give the vocational evaluator precise information on a person's functional ability, strength, work tolerance and work capacity. An O.T. should be familiar with the basic principles of job analysis and how to use performance tests and work samples. What distinguishes O.T. from vocational evaluation and vocational adjustment is its therpeutic function. It does not just identify occupational handicaps or goals, but applies its expertise to devise ways to improve functional capacity or compensate for functional limitations.
