經濟地理學的制度轉向：一個理論性回顧與研究取向的建議

摘要

本文主要探討經濟地理學領域中「制度轉向」之形成脈絡，並透過梳理相關學者對於制度的定義、其角色的扮演、運作的機制以及演化的過程等看法，提出制度取向下的地方發展研究方向建議。我們認為制度可被視為形塑不同地域經濟發展軌跡的重要中介及產物，有潛力成為理解經濟發展過程中「空間差異」如何產生、如何被呈現的一種方式，而制度取向的地理學研究也有助於理解更廣泛的制度變遷之解釋因素與地方發展之機會與限制。

This article aims to explore the context of the ”institutional turn” in Economic Geography and its implication to local development through reviewing relative concepts of institution and the mechanisms of its influences as well as transformation. We argue that institution could be regarded as the relevant medium that shapes different trajectories of local development and the outcome that been shaped. Furthermore, the institutional approach has much potential in exploring the spatial differentiation during the process of economic development, and it is helpful in investigating the factors of broader institutional transformation and the opportunities as well as limitations of local development.
