Primary Mucosal Melanoma of Maxillary Sinus with Distant Metastasis-Case Report

摘要

Mucosal melanoma of the paranasal sinus and nasal cavity is a rare disease associated with poor clinical outcome. Unilateral epistaxis and nasal stuffiness are the two most common symptoms, and as they are nonspecific, diagnosis tends to be delayed. Generally, the diagnosis of mucosal melanoma is made on the basis of immunohistochemical examination of the tumor biopsies. Surgical resection is recognized as the main treatment, and postoperative radiation therapy has been reported to reduce its locoregional recurrence. Here we present a case of mucosal melanoma arising from the right maxillary sinus along with its clinical and histological features, treatment, and literature review.

副鼻竇與鼻腔黏膜黑色素瘤是一種罕見但是預後不佳的疾病。單側鼻出血和鼻塞是兩種最常見的臨床症狀，且由於這些非特異性症狀，延遲診斷是很常見的。為了確定診斷，需要切片並進行一系列免疫組織化學檢測。手術切除是主要治療方法，根據許多文獻，術後放射治療可減少局部復發。此病例報告為原發自右上頜竇之黏膜黑色素瘤，另整理此疾病臨床和組織學特徵，治療及預後之相關文獻。
