從“名門正派”到明教教徒?-台灣《壹週刊》新聞工作者的調適與認同

From Orthodox Practitioners to Esoteric Workers? The Accommodation and Self-Identity of Taiwanese Journalists with the Next Magazine

摘要


《壹週刊》打著狗仔隊的招牌,跨海搶攻台灣的媒體市場,台灣《壹週刊》羶色腥的報導內容,狗仔隊式、侵犯隱私的採討手法,挑戰著台灣主流媒體的傳統新聞意理,也對其新聞工作者造成衝擊。本文試圖瞭解和分析在《壹週刊》這類「港式」八卦雜誌工作的台灣新聞工作者,面對《壹週刊》這份工作的調適和認同過程,探討《壹週刊》可以提供怎麼樣的實際工作條件和工作滿足感,使他們願意為其效力;最後分析台灣的編採人員,是經過怎樣的過程,被吸納與「改造」成符合《壹週刊》的媒體文化。「改造」過程當中,因為《壹週刊》、台灣媒體的不同文化背景,曾出現衝突和抗拒,台灣員工有的無法適應而離開;部份員工接受黎智英的說詞,而心悅誠服的留下;不過更多情況是,接受中有保留,心裡帶著矛盾和疑慮執行編採的工作。而台灣編採人員經歷過《壹週刊》的勞動條件和工作環境,已某程度改變了他們的勞動意識。

Propelled by the Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai, the Next Magazine landed on Taiwan with its fearless paparazzi digging out sensational news from the once private and closed world of the local celebrities. The ultra business style of the management pursues innovation and effectiveness through high salary reward to the right journalists who need to negotiate with the threat of low job security and jeopardized work ethics. This research looks inside the work team of the Next Magazine in Taiwan and attempts to study the process the journalists underwent as they transformed themselves to accommodate and identify with the Next Magazine's way of doing business. The respect derived from high salary, professional work condition and job satisfaction was to accompany with the stringent quality control, consumerist market orientation and reckless sack-off policy of the new press from Hong Kong; whereas the local press owners assume a conservative moralist stand but pay low for the professionals. Struggling with this ambivalent alien employer, the local recruits had to re-earn their identity with unresolved doubts and misgivings. What remains sure is that the journalists began to realize their labour rights and market value.
