試論李懷民《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》

A Study of Li Huaimin's General View of the Major and Minor Poets in Mid- and Late Tang, Revised Edition

摘要


本文扣除前言、結論,大約分為四節:首先概論《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》一書之作者、版本與編纂動機。其次,以<重訂中晚唐詩主客圖>為據,闡述李懷民之論詩見解。第三,對《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》之內容作一概括說明。最後,對李懷民《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》一書中,所作批點,深入評析,以見其短長。 李懷民在《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》中重申「中晚唐詩兩派」之主張,不僅較張為「六派說」更為精確;中晚唐重要五律作者,幾乎都有作品收錄;此一時期五律創作之面貌,不難由此獲知梗概。李懷民倡導「學詩當自五律始」、「由中晚唐以造盛唐之堂奧」不僅打破明代前後七子宗奉盛唐之風氣,也適時對「中晚唐詩淺俗」之偏見,有所糾偏,極具理論意義;尤其強調「學詩先求為古之豪傑」,對於不能升之廊廟之貧寒詩人,往往能給予適切評價;對其人格風範,不吝肯定。顯示出李懷民雖站在儒家立場,就詩歌批評而言,其心胸仍十分開闊。 當然,李懷民《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》仍有若干缺失,比如依循傳統舊法,僅對個別詩篇,作印象式、賞鑑式的批評。對頷聯頸聯之論析尤多,篇章營構之分析,明顯不足;有關五律聲調、用韻之討論,則全付闕如。雖然如此,李懷民《重訂中晚唐詩主客圖》固是中晚唐文學研究者應備要籍,也是五律創作者重要之參考書。

There are altogether four sections in this article. First, an introduction of the author Li Huaimin and an exploration of the motivation for writing ”General View of the Major and Minor Poetry in Mid- and Late Tang”, Revised Edition is provided. In the second section, basing on Lee's comments and his discourse on Tang poetry, a re-interpretation of his poetic theory has been attempted. After that, the contents and his concerns in subject matters as presented in his texts are described. Finally, a thorough analysis and evaluation of the literary value of this book is made.
