舞蹈哲學的迷思

舞蹈似乎只有感性，而無理性。科學屬於理性思維。於是，舞蹈似乎非科學(non-science)，甚至反科學(anti-science)。哲學在尋求真理，尋求事物的必然性與共通性。思維、理性是達到真理的方法。如果舞蹈無理性可言，則舞蹈似乎無哲學。但，舞蹈創作包含理性的思考，顯然有哲學。又，舞蹈是藝術，藝術有批判(critics)，藝術批判附屬於批判哲學，所以，舞蹈應該有哲學。然則，在談舞蹈哲學時，只有批判哲學嗎？應該不只是如此。置於形上學、或經驗主義下的舞蹈，展現了舞蹈哲學的另一風貌。呈現出異於舞蹈批判哲學的景致，說是本文的目的。文中條列八個命題，及兩個在經驗主義觀點下易致的陷阱。

It seems true that in dance there is only sensitivity, but rationality. We use rational thinking in science. Then we may conclude that the dance is non-science, or even anti-science. The goal of philosophy is to search the truth. It means that we are trying to find out the conclusions and the commonness in the real world. Thinking and rationality are the methods we used to reach the truth. If in dance there is no rationality, then there is probably no science. But in dance choreography, there includes some kinds of thinking. It obviously includes science within dance. In the another viewpoint, dance is an art. We have critics in the judgement of art. Art critics belong to the philosophy of the criticism. The dance is one kind of art. Apparently there is philosophy in dance. But, when we talk about the dance, is the criticism the only topics we can touch about? It should not be so. Putting the dance in the magnifier of idealism, or empiricism, it shows another spectacular scene, which is totally different from the landscape of criticism. That is the main object of this essay. In this essay I lists eight propositions of the puzzles of dance, and two pitfalls that is apt to fall into when viewing the dance as purely experiences.
