A new record species, Epipogium aphyllum (F. W. Schmidt) Sw., from Taiwan is described and illustrated. This species was found on Hohuan mt. In the central part of the Central Mountain Range of Taiwan at elevations of around 2,900 m. Diagnostic features of this new record species include thickened and much branching coealloid rhizomes and a 3-lobed lip. It was recently found to lack chlorophyll and is a rare species.
