3D Printing and Its Application on Orthopaedic Trauma

摘要


3D列印科技進展的非常迅速,在近幾年,骨科醫師開始將此項技術運用於骨科手術。將臨床上的3D影像(例如電腦斷層或磁振造影)檔案格式,轉換為3D列印機器可辨識的格式後,可利用此技術製造出實品大小的肢體模型,這些模型可以幫助手術醫師了解正確的解剖構造及骨折型態,手術醫師也可利用此模型,在手術前擬訂手術計畫,並進行模擬手術,幫助醫療團隊的溝通及固定物的選擇,若是沒有適合的固定物,3D列印技術可根據模型製作出客製化的固定物。除此之外,此模型也可經過消毒滅菌後帶上手術台,讓手術醫師在術中再次檢視,以更加了解解剖構造,使手術更順暢。因此,3D列印在骨科的運用有許多優點,此篇文章討論3D列印技術在四肢骨折手術的運用,並針對不同面相加以說明。

The development of 3D printing technologies evolves rapidly. In recent years, orthopaedic surgeons starts to apply the technology in orthopaedic surgeries. A simulated physical model can be created after converting an image profile of computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into a file format which can be recognized by a 3D printer. This 3D physical model helps surgeons understand the precise individual anatomy and fracture pattern. It also facilitates pre-operative planning including simulated surgery, improved medical team communication and implant selection. If there's no ideal implant, a customized implant can be made according to the model. Moreover, the model can be sterilized and let surgeons review the anatomy again intraoperatively. Therefore there are numerus advantages by applying the technology in orthopaedic surgeries. This article comprehensively reviewed the application of 3D printing technology in extremity fractures.
