“醫學生生活營”成果初報

A School Summer Camp for the Fresh Medical Students: A Preliminary Report

摘要


醫學生的態度發展和生涯規劃是醫學教育近三十年來重要的討論課題;如何預防教條、威權與犬儒主義傾向的文化,維繫醫學生理想的醫者專業認同,已逐漸成為醫學教育的目標之一。台大醫學院自八十五學年度起開辦以低年級醫學生為主要對象的醫學生生活營,針對(1)認識校區歷史與空間;(2)瞭解學中程規劃和學習目標;(3)畢業後之專業生涯選擇與規劃;(4)學習壓力與生活適應障礙之因應處理;以及(5)預習小組教學情境和問題解決方式等各項目標設計主題,進行工作坊式的訓練與研討。八十五及八十六學年度,分別有76和58名同學自動參與該生活營,問卷調查回收各30份。自我評估顯示,多數同學對於往後數年的學習生活有更多的期待感,心情较篤定(85%);對未來的醫學工作也有較清晰的認識,個別主題活動的滿意度也都維持在80%左右。但比較兩年之間發现因為帶引方式和技巧的不同會影響到學生的滿意度。由於國內相關研究和資訊的不足,無法提供詳細資料予學生作討論參考用。對即將進入醫學專業課程的新人而言,最迫切面臨的是學習生活的適應、壓力處理及危機因應等問題。生活營形式可望拉近學校和同學間的距離,增進師長和學生溝通交流的機會,預防適應危機之發生,並作為醫學生專業生涯規劃的起點。

The attitudinal development and career choice have become the important issues of medical education. The negative attitudes may interfere the growth of idealism and humanitarianism our future doctors. Concerned with the identity problem of medical students, the College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, has organized a school summer camp for the freshmen who are going to enter the medical curriculum from the pre-medical course. The workshops were designed to meet the following agenda: (1) to be acquainted with the history and environment of the medical campus; (2) knowledge about the curriculum and learning objectives of the school of medicine; (3) the needs for professional identity and career choice during school life; (4) stress management and crisis intervention in learning and living; (5) in-vitro exposure to problem-solving and small group tutorial mode. This camp was located in the University Forest far from Taipei and lasted for three days. Seventy-six and fifty-eight students signed up on volunteer basis and attended the summer camp in 1996and 1997 academic years respectively. 30 respondents to the final survey were obtained in each year. 85% of the total respondents felt more positive and less anxious after the school summer camp facing their medical training. The participants also obtained more information about their future professions. Most of the workshops satisfied the expectation of the participants. However, participants suggested that orientation to subspecialty career choice, resources for problem solving and stress management be strengthened. The school summer camp proves to be a good starting point for the following education years, but there are differences depending on the content and process of each workshop. (Full Text in Chinese)
