Through a cooperative inquiry about ”the curriculum integration in the area of Chinese language” with a profession development group of the elementary school teachers, the researcher attempts to explore twofold questions. One involves the question about how elementary school teachers treat the general issue of ”curriculum integration in the area of Chinese language”. The following aspects will be examined: the understanding of the definition and the practices, the explanation about the purpose, the curriculum goals and competence indicators, the attitude toward the textbook, the insight of language learning, and the construction of the new concepts which related to the curriculum integration in the area of Chinese language. The other question concerns of how the educators of teacher profession successfully function in the collaborative inquiry groups in the elementary schools.
