The Effect of Kinesio Tape with Facilitated Method on the Local Blood Flow Velocity in Healthy Adults

促進式肌能系貼紮應用於健康成年人局部血液流速的效應

摘要

Background and Purpose: This study is designed to investigate the effect of kinesio tape (KT) at various taping tension and with facilitated methods on the local blood flow velocity in healthy adults. Methods: Twenty healthy and voluntary adult subjects participated in this study (average age: 27.65 ± 6.268 years; average height: 166.72 ± 7.299 cm; average body weight: 65.22 ± 11.181 kg). The local blood flow velocity of the dominant hand were measured by Doppler ultrasound machines under without KT (WKT) and three various kinesio taping tension (KT1: facilitated taping without extra tension; KT2: facilitated taping with 20% extra tension; KT3: facilitated taping in agonist and inhibited taping in antagonist without extra tension). Each measured parameters were presented as mean ± standard deviation (SD). Paired-samples t-test was used to analyze the differences of these measured parameters after these three various KT taping tension compared to WKT. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the group differences between three KT various taping tension. The statistical significance level was set at p = 0.05. Results: Our research shows the local blood flow velocity was significant differences after three various KT tension compared to without KT (KT1 compared to WKT p = 0.037, KT2 compared to WKT p = 0.002, and KT3 compared to WKT p = 0.003; The group differences was no significance at three KT various taping tension (F = 1.145, p = 0.325). Conclusion: According to our study, the all various kinesio taping tension could significant increase the local blood flow velocity in healthy adult. Clinical Relevance: Our results provide important information to help the design of non-invasive intervention program for peripheral blood circulation disorder and diabetes patients.
