A Microstrip-Feed Antenna of Dual-Wideband Characteristics for WLAN/WiMax Applications

並列摘要

A simple-structure antenna with dual-wideband characteristics employing microstrip feeding and matching method is presented in this paper. The frequency bandwidth of the antenna is 2.14 ~ 3.96 GHz and 4.86 to more than 6 GHz. The antenna also exhibits radiation patterns that are similar to the omni-directional pattern of dipole antenna. The frequency bands of the antenna meet 802.11b/g/n/a/ p/h the application of (2.4 ~ 2.483 GHz (the World), 4.9 ~ 5.1 GHz (Japan), 5.15 ~ 5.35 / 5.47 ~ 5.725 / 5.725 ~ 5.875 GHz, 5.86 ~ 5.925 GHz (U.S.)) and global interoperability for Microwave Access (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, WiMax). This antenna was fabricated on a double-sided FR4 board, the front of which hosts the microstrip line and the matching network. The back of the FR4 board hosts the radiator comprised by a round component and a rectangular component. The FR4 board is 1 mm in thickness and 46 × 24 mm^2 in area. Simulation was carried out using HFSS software. The influences of various parameters on the antenna’s characteristics are discussed. The fabricated antenna and the simulated antenna are compared and analyzed in this paper.
