本文旨在分析增進學術自由的本質意義,以建構理想的學術組織經營型態,並且探索它的實踐策略。一般而言學術自由是高等教育的重要價值,原因在於它既它可以促進大學學術真理的追求,也可以確保大學的社會責任。然而弔詭的是,學術自由除對大學具有積極功能之外,在自由的前提下也有疏於真理探究的問題,進而產生學術組織成員專業夥伴關係的解構、學術社群的泛政治化、大學的無政府狀態以及學術人員與行政人員間的緊張關係,這些已經嚴重造成學術組織無法達成追求學術真理的目的。由於自我組織經營型態可以增進問題的探究,將有利於學術真理的追求,因此它可以避免學術自由執行所帶來的問題,進而落實學術自由的理想。本論文更粗探臺灣大學的現況,來分析學術自由對學術組織經營的影響及因應之道。
The study is to analyze the construction of patterns of ideal academic organizations in order to encourage the nature of academic freedom. Generally speaking, academic freedom is a very important value for a university, because it can facilitate truth-seeking and help improve a society. However, if people ignore the inquiry of truth owing to the protection of freedom, academic freedom will influence academic organizations negatively, such as the destruction of collegial relationships, play of political games, anarchy of university, and the contradictory relationships between administrators and scholars. Because people may not act rationally, they cannot find the truth and decrease the function of academic freedom. In order to avoid the executive problems of academic freedom, the pattern of self-organization will be advocated to increase the function of academic freedom. Finally, the study also analyzes the current conditions of academic freedom in Taiwan and its influence in academic organizations.
