Short Communication: Incidence of Dog Erythrocyte Antigen 1.1 in Maltese Terriers

摘要

輸血是特定疾病發生時維持生命的方式之一。因血型不合的輸血所造成的問題，可於輸血前的血型配對與定型而減少發生的風險。根據我們之前的研究結果顯示在台北地區馬爾濟斯犬具有對犬壁蝨媒介性疾病的發病宿因。因此我們收集85隻馬爾濟斯犬，進行犬紅血球抗原1.1的定型調查。結果顯示在這85隻馬爾濟斯犬中，成犬紅血球抗原1.1陽性反應者為21.2%，也是相關文獻中犬紅血球抗原1.1盛行率最低的調查報告。

Blood transfusion has been a life support in various conditions. Prior to transfusion, cross-match and typing is needed to minimize risk of incomparatiblilty. Based upon our previous study, Maltese Terrier was found to be predisposing to tick-borne diseases in Taipei area. Blood samples from 85 Maltese Terriers were typed using DEA 1.1. In this study, incidence of DEA 1.1 positive was 21.2%, it was lowest incidence of DEA 1.1. ever reported.
