Antibody Profiles of Newcastle Disease, Infectious Bursal Disease, Infectious Bronchitis and Reovirus Infections in meat-type Chickens in Taiwan

摘要

Serum samples collected from 1554 broiler flocks and 363 hybrid broiler (HB) flocks were examined for hemagglutination inhibition antibody titer of Newcastle disease (ND) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay antibody titers of infectious bursal disease (IBD), infectious bronchitis (IB) and reovirus infections (Reo). Geometric mean maternal antibody (MAb) titers of broilers were 54 ± 3 of ND, 1643 ± 5 of IBD, 2893 ± 6 of IB, and 785 ± 9 of Reo. For HB, MAb titers were 40 ± 3 of ND, 1473 ± 4 of IBD, 1186 ± 5 of IB, and 226 ± 10 of Reo. The MAb titers of Reo in HB were significantly lower than those 01 broilers (P ＜ 0.05). The antibody titers of broilers at marketing age were 26 ± 4 of ND, 779 ± 14 of IBD, 312 ± 14 of IB, and 150 ± 10 of Reo. In broiler, the ND, IB and Reo antibody titers at marketing age were significantly lower than the maternal antibody titers. The broiler flocks with ND titer below 8 at marketing age were all only vaccinated with attenuated ND vaccine. Supplemental use of inactived ND vaccine during high infection pressure is suggested.
