病例報告：紅羽土雞之脊椎滑脫症

自2009年初起，於屏東一處飼養約5萬隻源於法系原種雞的土雞養殖場，發現雞隻自2週齡時開始出現雙腳捲曲向前、犬坐姿，因無法站立、進食不易，最後均因呈現瘦弱而淘汰。發生率逐批增加，迄今已達5-10%，但死亡率低。畜主送檢8隻7-8週齡罹病雞隻，精神尚稱良好，羽毛有光澤但略為蓬鬆。臨床可見病雞無法站立、腳趾捲握、雙腳前後劈坐或坐姿拍翅。雞隻犧牲後進行病理檢查，胸椎部位可見異常彎曲之外，無其他明顯肉眼可見病變。取彎曲段脊椎脫鈣後縱切，剖面可見椎體壓迫脊髓，致使壓迫處明顯萎縮，病理切片下可見脊髓組織明顯變性及軟化，並伴隨部分神經細胞變性，確診為脊椎滑脫症。本病例為國內紅羽土雞脊椎滑脫症之首次報告，且發生率在7-8週齡時可達5-10%，與過去好發在白肉雞2-4週齡，發生率約1%之狀況已有明顯不同，提供作為臨床診斷參考。

A red-feather country chicken farm located in Pingtung, housing about 50,000 chickens that were from a French breed. Since 2008, the owner had noted that a few chickens showed lateral recumbency, emaciation and posterior paralysis. The rate of birds affected was 1 % in 2008 and reached 5-10% by 2009; however, the mortality was low. The farmer took 7- to 8-week-old chickens with typical clinical signs of posterior paralysis for examination. Although no significant gross lesion was found, a deformed spinal column was noticed. A deformed sixth spinal vertebra and spinal cord compression were identified. Obviously spinal cord malacia accompanying neuron degeneration was found by histopathological examination. No other lesion was observed in other tissues, and the final diagnosis was spondylolisthesis. This is the first report of spondylolisthesis in red-feather country chickens in Taiwan.
