The purpose of this study was aimed to analysis the Rugby coaching and development, the results are following as: 1.selection of players is an exercise in pragmatic compromise.2. Selection is not necessarily about picking the best player in each position, but about the right combinations and variations. 3.Ultimately selection of a particular player, besides its objective factors, is largely based on the selector's 'gut' reaction and instinct, which is naturally the last criterion for selection. So prior to making this final subjective judgment, an objective step-by-step method of selection that is both systematic and comprehensive must be used. Selection could be proactive or reactive.
