The purpose of the study was to explore the coping experiences with cancer in cancer patients. A purposive sampling of seven patients was selected in this study. The in-depth interviews were tape- recorded and verbatim transcripts were used for content analysis. The results showed that the coping strategies with cancer in cancer patients including ”transfer and console”, ”change and adjust”, ”entrust and let go”, and ”live out and hope”. Positive thinking was the core concept. The findings could display the precious experiences of coping illness in cancer patients, provide nurses with opportunities to understand cancer coping strategies and support cancer patients living with cancer.
