Typical symptoms of intussusception (abdominal pain, vomiting, and red-currant jelly stool) are not always apparent in children; hence, a diagnosis can be challenging. Herein, we report the case of a young infant who presented with fever and vomiting as the initial symptoms of intussusception. Enema reduction failed due to severe intestinal impaction. An emergency surgical reduction was consequently performed. Pediatricians should consider a diagnosis of intussusception in any child presenting with fever and vomiting.
