The purpose of this study was to identify the current issues foreign athletes face when they play competitive sport in the United States and to determine what support services exist during this adjustment period. A total of 96 surveys were collected; a survey with 31 questions with a 3-point Likert scale was provided to foreign athletes in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States. The researcher found that no significant relationship between social support survey and anxiety of foreign athletes was observed, but there were two types of social support that the athletes reported needing often, such as a party with teammates and showing affection to the athletes. Because many studies concluded that most foreign athletes clearly need teammates' support and coaches' guidance when facing a different environment, this study will let coaches and teammates understand what support service foreign athletes exactly need.
