本研究旨在瞭解我國大專校院不同背景學務人員,對於學務專業能力重要程度知覺之差異情形。本研究採用自編之「高等教育學務人員專業能力指標」調查問卷,針對國內大專校院學務人員進行問卷調查。研究發現受訪者知覺最重要的前三項專業能力依序為:「諮詢與助人技巧」、「個人素養」,以及「多元文化能力」。知覺最不重要3個專業能力依序為:「學生學習與發展促進」、「學務工作價值理解」,以及「領導能力」。本研究另亦發現,不同「現職」、「輪調經驗」、「教育背景」、「學校類型」,以及「學生人數」等變項,對於學務人員知覺學務專業能力的重要程度有顯著的差異存在。至於在學歷、性別、服務組別、學務年資、學校區域,以及組織人力等變項,則對學務人員各個面向的知覺專業能力,以及整體專業能力的重要程度知覺無差異存在。作者在文後提出五項建議,以及兩項未來研究建議供參。
The study examines the differences in perceptions toward the importance for the professional competence of domestic higher education student affairs practitioners with different backgrounds in Taiwan. In this study, "A Questionnaire of Professional Competency Indicators for Student Affairs Practitioners in Higher Education" was used. Data were analyzed, and the following results were obtained: A. The top three important professional competencies for student affairs practitioners are Consulting and Helping Skills, Personal Qualities, and Cultural Diversity; B. The least important three competencies are Student Learning & Development, Student Affairs Values, and Leadership; C. Significant differences in the perception toward the importance for the professional competence resulted from the variables of current positions, rotation experiences, educational backgrounds, school types, and student numbers; D. No significant differences were found in perception toward the importance for the overall or specific professional competency of the student affairs practitioners caused by the variables of education levels, gender, divisions in student affairs, and staff sizes. Based upon the findings, five recommendations and two research suggestions for the future are provided.
