本研究之目的在於:一、探討健身運動參與者之背景變項(性別、年齡、健身運動年齡)對健身運動參與動機的影響。二、了解健身運動參與動機對健身運動參與程度的預測情形。本研究以336位健身運動參與者為受試對象。研究工具為健身運動參與動機量表。所收集的資料以獨立樣本三因子變異數分析及多元逐步迥歸分析進行資料處理。本研究所得結果如下:一、在健身運動參與者之背景變項對健身運動參與動機的影響:(一)不同性別在外表/體重管理健身運動參與動機上有差異存在;在不同年齡層裡,在健身運動參與動機(體適能/健康管理、外表/體重管理、社交/休閒)上,分別有其差異存在。(二)性別和年齡對壓力/情緒管理有交互作用影響。二、體適能/健康管理與健身運動參與程度呈正相關,社交/休閒與健身運動參與程度呈負相關。體適能/健康管理、社交/休閒兩個因素能有效預測健身運動參與程度。
The purposes of the study were: 1. to explore the effects of different background variables (gender, age, and exercise age) on motivation for exercise, and 2. to examine the prediction of motivation for exercise on exercise participation. The subjects were 336 exercisers. The research tool was Motivation for Exercise Inventory. The collected data were analyzed by three-way ANOVA and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The results were as follows: 1. the effects of different background variables on motivation for exercise were: (1) there was difference between different gender in the motivation for exercise (appearance/weight control). (2) there was difference among different age in the motivation for exercise (fitness/health management, appearance/weight control, social/leisure). (3) there was an interaction between gender and age on the motivation for exercise (stress/emotion management). 2. Exercise participation could be predicted by fitness/ health management and social/leisure.
