In order to understand the effect of using soil amendment on the yield of radish and soil fertility in acid soil, the field experiments were carried out at Puli and Nantou. Results showed that there were significant effects on the growth and the yield of radish in the applicaton of organic compost and soil amendment. The yield of radish in the treatment of S-H mixture (800 kg/ha) and basic slag (2000 kg/ha) were the best, which was 55.6 t/ha and 55.0 t/ha, and the increased rate were 6.4% and 5.3%, respectively. By amending the soil with soil amendment, it could increase soil pH and the available of soil P, K, Ca, but reduced the contents of soil Fe. Obviously, soil fertility was well improved by soil amendment.
