The objective of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of Echinops grijsii extract in an in vivo experiments using BALB/c mice. The non-specific immunomodulatory experiments showed that administration of E. grijsii extract significantly (P<0.05) increased the phagocytosis percentage of monocytes. Besides, the OVA-specific immunomodulatory experiments showed that administration of E. grijsii extract not only significantly (P<0.05) enhanced the OVA-specific cell proliferation of mouse splenocytes but also stimulated OVA-specific IgG production significantly (P<0.05). It is speculated that the consumption of E. grijsii is useful for defending the invading specific antigens.
