A Mathematical Model for Dopamine Synthesis in the Kidney

Dopamine synthesis in the brain has long been studied and a model has long been established. Seeing that dopamine is also a presence in the kidneys, a model for dopamine synthesis in the kidney (in the renal proximal tubule) is constructed. Two frameworks are used, Biochemical Systems Theory (BST) and Chemical Reaction Network Theory (CRNT). Results are presented and compared.
