Development of an Outer Groove Rotor Type Precession Motion Ball Reducer

並列摘要

To eliminate the influences of vibration under high speed conditions, an outer groove rotor type precession motion ball reducer has been developed. This proposed reducer consists of four different elements; an inclined input shaft, a fixed ring, an output ring and an outer grooves type precession rotor. Many freely rotating balls are arranged on these rings. For generating the constant reduced rotation, the spatial wave groove just like a "trochoidal-wave" is generated on the outer spherical surface of a rotor. Also, to support a reaction force caused by the precession motion, many distorted spatial circular grooves are generated on the rotor surface, too. In this report, the motion principle is analyzed using polar complex vectors. Then, the prototype reducer is tested to verify the positioning accuracy, efficiency and stiffness. It is proved that the reducer has sufficient performances for positioning mechanisms.
