聚集對經營績效之影響-以上海紡織業為例

摘要


中國是全球紡織大國,廠商空間分布明顯集中東部沿海一帶,尤其以上海廠商分布密度最高。而屬傳統產業之紡織廠商聚集是否能如同科技業,發揮出聚集效益?為探討此問題,本文利用空間分析方法觀察聚集對廠商經營績效之影響,研究範圍為2007年上海紡織服裝業,共1,925間廠商。首先藉由Google Earth等空間分析軟體定位出廠商位置,再以半徑5公里範圍內鄰近廠商家數,作為聚集變數,並加入空間環境影響因素,實證結果顯示紡織服裝業廠商聚集對經營績效有實質的影響。 本文為更進一步觀察紡織服裝業中,不同類型廠商聚集對經營績效之效果,乃結合社會網絡分析方法,依紡織產業流程將廠商區分為5種類型,並依彼此間關聯遠近賦予權重,定義出同業聚集因素及異業聚集因素。經實證結果發現,同業的聚集能帶給廠商更佳的績效表現,反之異業的聚集卻對經營績效造成負向的影響,產生「聚而不群」的現象。

China is the world’s major textile manufacturing producer. The spatial distribution of firms are discernibly concentrated on the east coast, with the greatest concentration occurring in Shanghai. As a traditional industry, would agglomeration effects generated in the textile industry as in the technology industry? This paper employs the spatial analysis method to observe the impact of agglomeration on the performance of firms. The scope of the study includes 1925 textile firms in Shanghai in 2007. The research first locates the position of textile firms by spatial analysis software such as Google Earth and uses the number of adjacent firms within 5km radius as cluster variable. Spatial-environmental factors are also considered. The empirical result indicates the substantial effect agglomeration has on the textile industry. This paper further examines how agglomeration effects on profitability among different types of textile firms. Using social network analysis, the textile industry is categorized into 5 types according to the manufacturing process. Thereafter, giving different weight by their correlations to exploit clustering factors. The empirical result reveals that clustering within the same category enhances the firm’s performance, whereas clustering across different categories shows the opposite.
