提前可製造性審查至RD產品開發階段對績效之影響

摘要


在全球產業結構與分工下,台灣電子產業一直以代工生產為主要業務,然而在科技迅速進步與需求日益分歧的全球競爭市場,企業面對經營環境的激烈競爭,唯有縮短產品上市周期才可以讓組織生存與成功,以及企業才能擴大與成長(Langerak and Hultink, 2006)。所以越來越多企業體認到加速產品開發時程、降低成本與改善產品開發績效,進而提高企業獲利來建立競爭優勢。 由於產品開發績效與產品開發過程以及整合有相當大的關係,其中產品設計階段與生產製造整合之同步工程作業確實對產品開發績效之提升有所貢獻。如果在產品開發早期階段就已經考慮可製造性之問題,對產品開發成功機率有優異的表現(Swink,2003)。另外,創新性高的產品可以為企業帶來高利潤,但是創新產品之技術與市場環境不確定性較高,導致產品之開發特性也因此而有所差異,企業面對不同開發特性之產品,使用不同之管理機制可得到滿意之產品開發績效(伍家德,2000) 本研究探討可製造性設計審查、產品開發特性與產品開發績效之間的關聯,以個案公司之產品開發專案相關資料與透過對產品開發專案相關人員之訪談進行實證分析,探討產品開發過程中,在RD產品開發階段導入可製造性設計審查之影響。根據個案公司之產品開發特性分為全新平台、延伸性與改良性之產品開發專案,研究結果顯示全新平台之產品開發專案,提早可製造性設計審查至RD產品開發階段可獲得滿意之產品開發績效。

Under the global industrial structure and specialization, the electronics industry in Taiwan has been OEM-oriented. However, when an enterprise faces aggressive competition in the business environment in the global competitive market where technology is rapidly progressing and demands are different day by day, organization survival and success can only be achieved by shortening the product listing cycle. The enterprise can in turn be expanded and developed (Langerak and Hultink, 2006). Thus, more and more enterprises realize that by accelerating the product development speed, reducing the cost and improving the product development performance, the profit would be increased and the competitive advantages would be established. As product development performance is highly related to product development process and integration, the product design stage and the concurrent engineering of production and integration in particular contribute to the improvement in product development performance. If the design for manufacturability issue is considered in early product development stage, it would have positive impact on the success rate of the product development (Swink, 2003). In addition, product with high innovativeness brings high profit to the enterprise. Yet the technology and market environment for innovative product are highly uncertain which lead to varied product development features. When facing products with different development features, the application of different management mechanisms would result in satisfied product development performance (Jia-De Wu, 2000). In the research, the connection between designs for manufacturability review, product development feature and product development performance is discussed. Empirical analysis is carried out using information relating to the product development projects of the case company and interview with the staff involved in the projects. The impact of introducing design for manufacturability review in the development stage of RD product during the product development process is discussed. Based on the product development feature of the case company, the research is divided into New Platform, Extensibility and Improved product development projects. The research result shows that New Platform product development project, in which the design for manufacturability review is brought forward to the RD product development stage, would result in satisfied product development performance.
