被動式RFID標籤於運動賽事之研究與應用

摘要


近年來,醫學報告指出運動與健康兩者是息息相關,可藉由運動的過程來強化身心健康。因此政府希望能給予民眾良好的運動觀念以提升自我運動意識,於是紛紛與民間單位舉辦熱門大型運動賽事,諸如自行車賽事、馬拉松賽事與游泳賽事等,以提升全民運動風氣。而傳統人工裁判的計時效率已無法因應在賽事中突然湧入的選手群,不但造成整場賽事的進行失去流暢性,也在成績方面較容易產生爭議。 為了解決這樣的問題,本研究建構一套以RFID提供運動賽事資訊之系統,先分析各種被動式標籤的特性與讀取效率,再透過現場實驗方式來驗證於各種運動賽事之應用的可行性。此系統於實際運動賽事將會收集所有參賽選手的起終點讀取時間以進行成績計算,並即時列印出完賽證明提供給選手作為紀念。 在現場收集各類運動賽事資訊中得知,採用被動式標籤之讀取效率主要會因以下兩點因素而有明顯變化。一是根據比賽性質、舉行地點與季節氣候等造成的環境因素,另一因素則是人為。但運動計時不允許產生任何差錯,因此本研究主要探討的重點在於,要如何確保有效讀取率及精確的完賽時間。

Recent medical studies have highlighted a strong relation between sports and fitness, suggesting that people can improve their health through workout. In an attempt to cultivate a correct concept of exercise and a self-exercise awareness in domestic citizens, our government has worked with civil organizations to hold many large sports games, such as cycling race, marathon race, and swimming race. With the increase of participants in sports games, score controversies are likely to occur as manual timing methods can hardly capture the exact arrival time of each participant. To address this problem, this study developed an RFID-based gaming information system. The features and efficiency of passive RFID tags were first analyzed, and the feasibility of applying RFID tags in sports games was tested via field experiment. For each participant, the developed system would collect the departure time and arrival time and then automatically calculate the race time. The result could also be printed out immediately as a certificate of achievement. In field experiment, two factors affecting the passive RFID tag reading efficiency were found. One was the environmental factor, which included gaming type, location, and weather conditions. The other was human factor. Because error was not allowed in sports timing, this study focused on how to ensure tag reading efficiency and accurate capture of race time in sports games.
