Globalization has promoted the international artist-in-residence action. Artist is the carrier of culture and art, through the contact and dialogue with local residents; the artist is able to draw nourishment from the "heterogeneous" culture for his/her creation and carry out the cross-cultural exchange. “Artist-in-Residence Taipei” (AIR Taipei) as a platform which provides the international artists to explore their projects and participate in the art promotion programs to engage with the local culture and art groups. This study applies the integrated curriculum education model to analyze the teaching methods and effectiveness of the artistic promotion programs executed by six international artists who joined 2011 and 2012 AIR Taipei projects at three schools. Artists of multi-cultural backgrounds and international artistic visions are assigned to carry out the short-term teaching courses by integrating contemporary art education concepts rooted in postmodernism, visual culture, multiculturalism, community-based and global cultures. This paper mainly discusses the educational partnerships based on the perspective of AIR Taipei; and furthermore, explores the significances and impacts of this program to the Taiwanese art education authority, schools, AIR Taipei and international artists. In the end of this research, it suggests that the educational authority and the AIR can establish a teaching resource platform so that the schools can introduce the international resident artists to promote the more diverse contemporary art education.
