摘要

本研究以臺北當代藝術中心為例，探討一個當代藝術中心如何開啟需求，獲取群體共識，以機構平臺為號召，集結為當代藝術的社群組織，將理念具體成型；在開放性質的營運策略中，使焦點從視覺的表達轉移到對話的產生，透過實驗、交流匯聚互動合作，回應公共領域的溝通討論，並於過程中調節機構所衍生的現象問題。在藝術社群、獨立批判的主軸架構下，由計畫醞釀到核心組織及實體空間的營運，從中檢視其不同層面的對應關係、困境挑戰和後續的平衡發展，釐清臺北當代藝術中心的論述理念、進程狀況及可能的定位，歸結其獨立於官方與商業的自營形態，拓展國際聯結，從事知識生產的論辯積累，進一步以積極串連的實踐動能，凝聚文化議題與政策批判的訴求力量，形塑意見傳達與監督機制，建設性地在活絡、衝擊、省思的試驗模式中，發揮實質影響的存在意義。

This paper conducts a case study of Taipei Contemporary Art Center to explore how a contemporary art center creates demand, obtains group consensus and uses an institutional platform as an appeal to build a community organization of contemporary arts and to put ideas into form. With an open business strategy, the focus shifts from visual expression to generation of conversation. Interactions and cooperation are gathered through experiments and exchanges, thereby making response to discussion and communication in the public sphere, and the phenomena and problems derived from the institution are adjusted during the process. In the main framework of arts community and independent criticism, this paper examines the corresponding relationship, the predicaments and challenges and the subsequent balance and development in different aspects of the planning stage, the core organization and the operation of the physical space to clarify the discourse and ideas, the process status and the possible position of Taipei Contemporary Art Center. With the self-managing mode independent from the government and the commerce, Taipei Contemporary Art Center expands international links, accumulates the discourse of knowledge production and, with active and linking force for action, further assembles the appeal and power in criticism of cultural issues and policies to shape an opinion conveyance and supervision mechanism and to exert substantial influence constructively in an active, impacting and reflective testing mode, displaying its meaning of existence.
