科學新聞融入問題本位學習對七年級學生生物學習動機與學習成就的影響

摘要


本研究目的在探討科學新聞融入問題本位學習對國中生物學習動機與學習成就的影響。本研究採準實驗研究的方式,以桃園縣某國中七年級兩班新生為研究對象,在暑期輔導時間分別進行問題本位學習教學與傳統講述式教學,探討問題本位學習對其生物學習動機與學習成就的影響。研究為期四週,共六堂課,透過學生科學動機量表(SMTSL)做量化分析,並以學生的課堂學習單做質性資料的分析與探討,提出以下幾點發現: 一、科學新聞融入問題本位學習對七年級學生生物學習動機沒有顯著進步,實驗組學生在前 後測的比較中,在主動學習策略、科學學習價值、成就目標、學習環境方面,學習動機 達顯著差異。而在實驗組與控制組學生後測成績的分析中,發現實驗組學生在學習動機 表現上與控制組學生沒有顯著差異。 二、科學新聞融入問題本位學習對七年級學生生物學習成就沒有顯著進步,實驗組學生與控 制組學生在生物成就測驗的成績未達顯著差異。 根據研究發現,科學新聞融入問題本位學習對七年級學生生物學習動機與學習成就沒有正向的影響,但未必不適合於國中生物的教學,因此研究者針對研究中面臨到的問題,對問題本位學習教學的應用與後續研究提出幾點建議,希冀提供教育之參考。

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of incorporation of Science News into problem-based learning on junior high school students’ learning motivation and achievement in biology. This study adopted quasi-experimental design. The participants were seventh-grade students from two classes at the same junior high school in Taoyuan County. Both classes of students were taught by means of problem-based instruction and didactic instruction respectively during the summer vacation. The study lasted for four weeks with a total of six lessons. According to the quantitative analysis through Student’s Motivation toward Science Learning (SMTSL), as well as the qualitative data from students’ worksheets in class, the researcher concludes the findings as following: 1. The incorporation of Science News into problem-based learning in biology has no positive influence on junior high school students’ learning motivation. Based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test, the learning motivation of the students in experimental group shows significant difference in terms of active learning strategy, science learning value, achievement goal, and learning environment. Besides, it doesn’t show diverseness in learning motivation according to the analysis of the post-test scores from the students in both experimental group and control group. 2. The incorporation of Science News into problem-based learning in biology has no positive influence on junior high school students’ learning achievement since students’ testing scores in biology between the both groups have no significant differences. The results reveal that the incorporation of Science News into problem-based learning in biology has no positive influence on junior high school students’ learning motivation and achievement. Nevertheless, this approach still could be incorporated into biology instruction at junior high school. Therefore, the researcher provides several suggestions related to the application of problem-based instruction for further research.
