Since December 2008, China government has been promoting the “Connecting agriculture with supermarkets” policy. This policy requests that pilot supermarkets must purchase their agricultural products directly from the origin in order to reduce intermediate trader, reduce agricultural products transaction costs, ensure food security, increase farmer's income, and accelerate rural development. After two years since the policy being put in practice, many issues still exist in the supermarket-origin cooprations. This study aims to probe into the issues and what kind of solutions a 3rd party service provider can deliver.
