本研究之目的在於探討台中地區高齡者的閱讀態度與閱讀行為之情形。首先探討台中地區高齡者閱讀態度與閱讀行為之現況;其次探討不同背景變項之高齡者其閱讀態度之差異;接著探討不同背景變項之高齡者其閱讀行為之差異;再者分析高齡者閱讀態度與閱讀行為之相關性;最後討論高齡者的閱讀態度對閱讀行為之預測。本研究採問卷調查法,調查對象是台中地區55歲以上識字的高齡者,以自編問卷進行施測,共抽取台中地區高齡者376人為受試者,有效問卷313份。調查資料以敘述性統計、獨立樣本t檢定、單因子變異數分析、Pearson積差相關及簡單線性迴歸等進行分析。結論如下:一、台中地區之高齡者其閱讀態度是略為正向的,而閱讀行為較不積極;二、不同性別、年齡、教育程度、居住地區、居住情形、自覺經濟狀況、自覺健康狀況及社經地位之高齡者其閱讀態度具有顯著差異;三、不同年齡、教育程度、居住地區、自覺經濟狀況、自覺健康狀況、婚姻狀況及社經地位之高齡者其閱讀行為具有顯著差異;四、高齡者的閱讀態度與閱讀行為之間具有顯著正相關;五、高齡者的閱讀態度可以預測高齡者的閱讀行為。根據上述結論給予以下建議:一、提供偏鄉地區、經濟狀況困難及低社經地位之高齡者更多閱讀的機會;二、打造友善的閱讀環境,降低高齡者因生理問題造成的閱讀障礙;三、提升高齡者之閱讀態度以促進其閱讀行為。
The purpose of this study was to investigate the case of reading attitudes and reading behavior of the elderly adults in Taichung area. First, it investigated the status of reading attitudes and reading behavior of the elderly adults in Taichung area. Secondly, it discussed the differences of reading attitudes among different background variables. Then it explored the differences of reading behavior among different background variables. Further it analyzed the correlation between reading attitudes and reading behavior. Finally, it discussed the prediction of reading attitudes on reading behavior. This study used the method of questionnaire survey making self questionnaire for elderly adults who are 55+ and literate in Taichung area, The survey sampled 376 elderly adults in Taichung area and 313 effective questionnaires. The survey data used descriptive statistics, independent samples t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and simple linear regression analysis. Conclusions were as follows: First, the reading attitudes of elderly adults in Taichung area were slightly positive, and the reading behavior is less positive. Second, there were significant differences of reading attitudes among different gender, age, education, residence, living situation, and consciously economic status, perceived health status and socio-economic status of the elderly adults. Third, there were significant differences of reading behavior among different age, education, residence, consciously economic status, perceived health status, marital status and socio-economic status of the elderly adults. Fourth, there were significant positive correlations between the reading attitudes and reading behavior of elderly adults. Fifth, elderly adults' reading attitude can predict their reading behavior. The following recommendations were addressed according to the conclusions: First, provide more reading opportunities to the elderly adults in rural areas, difficult economic situation and low socio-economic status. Second, create a friendly environment for reading to reduce the elderly adults' reading barriers due to physical problems. Third, enhance the elderly adults' reading attitudes to promote their reading behavior.
