摘要

本研究主要利用1995 年至2009 年，台灣地區24 家本國銀行的資料。採
用隨機成本邊界法來評估銀行的成本效率，另考慮「銀行總資產」、「分行數」、「逾放比率」所產生的隨機干擾因素對成本效率的影響，經本研究實證結果發現：估計期間受評估本國銀行是有 10.38% (=1-0.8962) 的成本無效率；分行數、銀行總資產對成本無效率呈現正向統計顯著性。因2008 年為成本效率最低點，代表全球金融海嘯對成本無效率有影響。

This thesis employs the Stochastic Frontier Analysis approach to evaluate the cost efficiency of 24 domestic banks in Taiwan. Sample period is from 1995 to 2009. The
influence of statistical noise effects resulted from the bank’s total assets, the number of branches and the rate of non-performing loans on the cost efficiency is also studied. The empirical results show that the domestic banks in Taiwan possess 10.38%(1-0.8962) cost inefficiency during the sample period. Besides, the impact factors, the
bank’s total assets and the number of branches, have significant positive relationship with cost inefficiency. The lowest cost efficiency of Taiwan’s 24 banks appears in
2008. It indicates that the global financial tsunami was obviously influential to the cost inefficiency.
