Epidemiologic studies from the United State shows myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs) were the primary source of pain account for 30-85% of patients attending to primary care for pain. In Taiwan, People used to seek acupuncture as a treatment of pain. In this article, varied therapeutic options will be introduced in addition to etiology, and pathogenesis, and hope to provide basic knowledge for health practitioner.
