These were two cases of comminuted fractures of lower limbs. One suffered from metatarsal comminuted fracture, the other suffered from tibial and fibular comminuted fracture. Surgeons told them their legs had to be amputated. It was not an easy thing to accept, so they visited our OPD. Patients would rather feel pain than nothing at all. We made arrangements for their consultation. A conservative treatment consisted of close reduction and Chinese herbs. Because of traditional Chinese medical therapies the comminuted fractures were cured and the outcome avoided amputation. One was able to walk with a mild limp, the other was able to walk as usual.
