Neurilemomas of the brachial plexus are rare lesions and the literature of otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery is devoid of information concerning the diagnosis and management of these lesions. We encountered a 42 year-old male presenting with a right supraclavicular mass for 6 or 7 years in July 1995. The freely movable mass was firm and nontender. Preoperatively, a cystic lesion 4 cm in diameter was demonstrated on CT scan. During the operation, a mass beneath the brachial plexus with adhesion to the plexus elements was detected. A well capsulated mass was extirpated and it was reported as a neurilemoma by the pathologist. However, sensory and motor neurological deficits of the right upper limb were found postoperatively. Fortunately, recovery of the neurological function after rehabilitation is complete for a follow-up period of 20 months.
