中國大陸維吾爾民族意識考察－湖南常德地區田野調查

維吾爾族人吃豬肉可能是一件很稀奇的事，但如果從民族遷徙、通婚、政治經歷來理解，這又不是那麼不可想像。其實，對南疆維族人而言，這是家族重遇，充滿著驚喜與同情；對中共官方和黨而官，風俗習慣並不等同於民族身分，應當任其自然發展；對伊斯蘭教而言，這種現象只能潛移默化；而對常德的維族而官，這表示要摸索出民族特色確實不易。多少維族人會吃豬肉，將成為未來一個有趣的觀察點，因為這是民族認同變化的風向球，而十年後又會有多少阿旬（伊斯蘭教塞層神職人員）出現在常德，則又涉及民族意識、宗教信仰和風俗習慣三者的關係在常德出現的斷裂，究竟是歷史的偶然，還是新時代的定律。不同的人或同一個人從不同的角度對民族意識或持正面或持負面的態度，但學術界迄今仍未建構出一個比較妥當的理論來說明民族意識的多層面意義。

Uygurs in Changde, Hunan Province have distinctive ethnicity, religious practices and customs. As a result, some young Uygurs do not practice Islam and eat pork, while some practice Islam but also eat pork. As for senior Uygur party cadres, they follow Islamic customs without actually practicing religious belief. The rising ethnic consciousness in recent years witnesses higher devotion to religious activities while new meaning given to Islam begins to tolerate pork eating and de-emphasis religious ritual. This research note argues that existing academic discourses are unable to explain the seeming irony of religious revival and pork eating.
